Looking for information about transfers from Bangkok to Pattaya in Thailand? In this article, we will tell you how to get to Pattaya from Bangkok and from Bangkok airport on your own, how much the trip costs and how long it will take.

There are three ways to get to Pattaya - by bus, train or by ordering a taxi transfer. From Bangkok airport to Pattaya can not be reached by train, but can be reached by bus or taxi.

Let's take a closer look at each option below.

How to get from Bangkok to Pattaya by bus

Buses Bangkok - Pattaya run from two bus stations in the Thai capital: northern (Mo Chit) and eastern (Ekkamai). Buses leave every 25-40 minutes and reach Pattaya in 2-2.5 hours. The ticket costs about 125 baht.

It is more convenient to go from the eastern (Ekamai) bus station, since it is located near the metro station of the same name (Ekamai station), and buses from this station run more often than from the northern one.

Make sure you take the non-stop "express" (most buses to Pattaya are like this, but others make several stops along the way and take almost twice as long in total).

Minivan

Previously, Pattaya could be reached by minivan from the Victory Monument metro station, but recently the Thai authorities have kicked out all minivans from there. Now they depart from the official bus stations of Bangkok, and free shuttles have been launched from Victory Monument to these stations.

For example, Pattaya Van minivans run from Mo Chit bus station every 15-20 minutes, the ticket costs only 92 baht per trip.

By train

The train from Bangkok to Pattaya runs daily at 06:55 from Bangkok Hua Lampong Central Station. In this direction, only third-class tickets are sold (cars, like in our trains), the price is about 30 baht.

The train travels for more than three hours and arrives in Pattaya at 10:34, and then on condition that it is not late. We recommend considering this option only as a last resort.

You can check the train schedule on the official website of the railways of Thailand.

There are several operators providing bus service from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya.

At the same time, you get from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya by bus, and in the city you are transferred to a minivan and driven to the hotel. The ticket costs 250 baht. According to the latest information, there is no ticket office of this company at the airport and the ticket can only be bought online on the official website (link above). Buses depart from the first floor of Suvarnabhumi Airport, from gates 7-8.

Taxi Bangkok – Pattaya

You can get to Pattaya by taxi either directly from Bangkok or from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Taxi prices from Bangkok airport to Pattaya start at 1500 baht, from the city it can be a little more expensive.

Travel time is around 2 hours. Such a transfer will be the most expensive, but also the most convenient - you will be taken directly to the hotel.

In any case, always agree on the final price with the driver before the start of the trip - there is a risk of stumbling upon an unscrupulous driver who will try to take more money from you than he says at the beginning.

train to bangkok

There is a train connection between Pattaya and Bangkok, which can also be used.

Trains depart from Pattaya Railway Station and Pattaya Tai Railway Station (Pattaya Tai).

This option is the most unpopular, and even if it is not the highest price, but you will get about 4 hours.

The train makes several stops along the way. A train arrives in Bangkok at the Hua Lamphong railway station (Hua Lamphong). This is not the most convenient option, since you will still have to get to the city center from the station, about 20-30 minutes.

Also, tourists are frightened off by the appearance of the train, it does not look the best, open windows, no air conditioners, and it is difficult to recognize what color this or that train is painted.

However, some tourists, on the contrary, are attracted by this appearance, and they want to ride on such a train.

Train timetable to Bangkok

The train schedule is extremely inconvenient, since the train leaves Pattaya at about 14:00, given that the train takes 4 hours to Bangkok, you will arrive at the place in the evening.

Train fare to Bangkok

How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok: all ways and ticket prices + map of Pattaya bus stations

The direction Pattaya-Bangkok is the most popular in the city. It is not surprising that in almost every area of Pattaya there is a bus station, from which several buses leave for the capital every day. This is not counting those that take tourists to Bangkok for a tour. Therefore, there are more than enough ways to get from Pattaya to Bangkok. I found for myself the simplest, most convenient and at the same time cheap.

But in this article, I will still talk about all ways to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on your own. After all, if you, for example, live in a hotel in the north of Pattaya, then you are unlikely to go to the other end of the city to save a few tens of baht. In addition, there is not only a Pattaya-Bangkok bus, but also a taxi. Let's start with him.

How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on your own? Method 1: Taxi

Departure - at any time convenient for you from any place convenient for you. At the same time, they will take you wherever you want - at least to, at least to Khaosan Road. How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok by taxi? There are two main ways: to order a car on the spot (including us) or on a specialized website. Here are some useful links:

  • (including transfers)

Method 2: Pattaya-Bangkok bus

As I said, there are several ways to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on your own. And several bus stations from which buses depart to different areas of the capital of Thailand. They are indicated on the map:

Below I will talk about each of the bus stations. But keep in mind that the schedule and prices may change, so I do not advise you to come very early or very late. The average travel time is from 2 to 2.5 hours.

North Bus Station

Buses from Pattaya to Bangkok leave every half an hour from 4:30 to 23:00. There are three end points - Bangkok's Morchit Bus Terminal, Bangkok's South Bus Terminal (Southern Bus Terminal or Sai Tai Mai) and Ekamai Bus Station. Ticket price - from 120 to 140 baht depending on the destination.

How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on your own? The most expensive way is from the Northern Bus Station. From here, buses run to Mochit and Ekamai stations, as well as to the Bangkok South Bus Station.

Bus station near Central Festival

The bus station is, of course, loudly said))) Hereinafter, this word means an inconspicuous table by the road with the inscription Bangkok, next to which there is a minibus waiting for passengers.

Buses to Bangkok leave every hour from the bus station near the Central Festival shopping center from 6:00 to 18:00. Ticket price - 134 baht. But keep in mind that anarchy reigns at this bus station: the bus may not go early in the morning or late in the evening, and also in the middle of the day, because the driver. Once we had to wait an hour and a half to check out.

Bus station on South Road

Here is the promised way how to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on your own is not only cheaper, but also the easiest! Firstly, ticket price here is only 90-100 baht(the cost changes from time to time, and in any direction). But the main thing is not in this, but in the fact that from this point minibus Pattaya - Bangkok departs from 6:00 to 20:00 every 15 minutes! That is, no matter what time you arrive, in a maximum of a quarter of an hour you will be on your way, and in a couple of hours you will be at the Mo Chit bus station in Bangkok. Ticket sellers sit at a table on South Road, between the jays of Pattaya Tai 6 and Pattaya Tai 8. You can check the current price and schedule at carrier website .

Bus station on Second Road

Bus from Pattaya to Bangkok every hour from 7:00 to 20:00, ticket price - 100 baht.

How to get from Pattaya to Bangkok: BTS Mo Chit metro station near Chatuchak market, where most buses come from Pattaya.

Bus station near Bali Hai Pier (near Walking Street)

There are two booths nearby selling tickets for minibuses from Pattaya to Bangkok 100 baht. As stated, minibuses leave from here one after another, the first one leaves at 7:00. But as it should be on Walking Street, confusion reigns here. It was from here that I tried to leave early, right at seven in the morning, when I needed

The ticket dealer's table is hard to spot. He is usually stationed just to the right of the intersection of Jomtien Beach Road and the fifth "jay", but was seen both to the left and to the right of this place. So if you need to get from Pattaya to Bangkok from Jomtien, I advise you to just walk along the sea in this area, looking for the Bangkok sign. And if it is not in place, go to one of the above-mentioned bus stations. Because if the required number of passengers is not recruited, the flight from Jomtien to Bangkok can be shifted in time or canceled altogether.

Here, perhaps, are all the ways I know how to get from Pattaya to Bangkok on my own. If you know other ways to get to Bangkok from Pattaya, then share in the comments!

Why did I choose such a difficult way of travel as public transport? In fact, getting from the Airport in Bangkok to the station in Pattaya by bus is not difficult, and no more difficult than doing the same way by taxi, and the savings will be about 1,000 (a little less than 2,000 rubles) baht for two one way. Namely, an inexpensive vacation not to the detriment of myself is what I strive for (you can read about the cost of this trip in the article: ""). Besides, "our people don't take taxis to the bakery." However, in this article I will try to analyze most of the ways to get from Bangkok to Pattaya.

Suvarnabhumi Airport, one of the largest and transport hubs in all of Asia, is convenient, comfortable, beautiful, but its main advantage in terms of the road to Pattaya are direct scheduled buses, which greatly simplify the road to the resort.

Don Muang cannot boast of this, and you will have to go to the nearest bass station in order to buy a ticket to Pattaya from there. However, there is a little trick that you can use. Free shuttle buses run between the airports every 10 minutes, by the way, the airports are located quite close to each other, one problem is that they only put a shuttle on if you have a ticket to fly from a neighboring airport on that particular day. To confirm the availability of a ticket, you can use the screenshot on the smartphone screen, which means that with a fake booking or minimal Photoshop skills, you can make a picture that allows you to shuttle between airports for free.

Before you go all out and start experimenting, I recommend reading the article about Thai holidays. In it, I tried to highlight the main points that are worth paying attention to:

We organize an independent trip to Pattaya easily, quickly and cheaply

And now let's look at the main ways to get to Pattaya from Bangkok Airports.

How to get from Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya by bus

Direct flight from Pattaya airport

I repeat that one of the easiest ways, apart from taxis, to get from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya is to buy a ticket for a direct bus. Buses are easy to find, just ask any airport employee: "bas to Pattaya" and you will be happy to tell you how to find it. I don’t understand why the locals are so happy about the question about Pattaya, but this is a fact that I have clearly noticed - a smile immediately blooms on Thai faces, especially if you put the right emphasis on the last syllable. Unfortunately, the choice of the station in this city depends on the choice of your place of residence in Pattaya, and the price of the bus also depends on it:

  • Bus ticket from Suvarnabhumi to North Station in Pattaya costs 250 baht, which is almost commensurate with the cost of a taxi for four. Moreover, from the station you will still have to go around the city, and these are additional expenses from 100 to 300 baht. So when traveling in a company, think about a taxi or other routes.
  • A bus ticket to the south station in Pattaya can be purchased for 120 baht, again, the road to the other end of Pattaya can be very expensive, provided that you stubbornly refuse to use an online taxi. It should be remembered that ordinary taxi drivers at bus stations can almost double the already quite high city prices. For example, trading with the three of us started with 600 baht for 3 km. The hornbeam cost us 100 baht

If you want to get to the northern station in Pattaya and save money at the same time, it makes sense to use a simple route. Drive to Ekimai bass station, and from there to the northern station in Pattaya. For this:

  • We go down to the lower level of Suvarnabhumi Airport from where the BTS metro goes, for 35 baht we buy a ticket to the desired station (with two transfers) and go to it in an air-conditioned comfortable carriage. If there are problems with the purchase, then cute aunts are specially assigned there to help inexperienced tourists
  • On the bass station itself we find a window with the desired direction and for 100 baht we buy a ticket to Pattaya

How to get from Don Muang to Pattaya by bus

Once again about the life-hack and the trip through Suvarnabhumi

Once again, I’ll tell you a little more about a little trick. Most of the intra-Asian flights arrive at Don Muang Airport, from which there are no buses to Pattaya. In any case, we did not find them. Despite the proximity of the airports, it is not an option to get there on foot, therefore, for transit passengers, free shuttle buses run regularly between airports. To ride them, you need to go to the employee located at the counter next to the stop and show a ticket, according to which you must fly on the same day, but from a different airport. He will make a list of you and, when boarding, will make sure that you get into the shuttle.

In our case, the flight from Suvarnabhumi was supposed to take place only after 7 days, so we were denied a trip. However, a little later on one of the forums I read a traditional Russian trick. You can correct your ticket in Photoshop or make a reservation, which can then be canceled. An electronic ticket from a smartphone screen is quite a sufficient reason for traveling by bus, the main thing is to take care of it in advance. And after arriving in Suvarnabhumi, you can use any of the methods described above to get to Pattaya.

Road through Mo Chit Basstation

The closest bus station to Don Muang is Mo Chit Basstation. It was through her that we went to Pattaya. It turned out to be not difficult to do this, especially if we thought of buying ourselves a SIM card and connecting the local Internet:

Road through Ekimai Basstation

The road from Don Muang to Pattaya through Ekimai is almost the same as the route from Suvarnabhumi, with a few exceptions. There are no BTS flights from Don Muang, so first you need to get to the nearest stop. Given that the cost of a trip to BTS depends on the number of stations, the closer you get to Ekimai, the better. The best would be a trip to the final bus A2 cost 30 baht per person. And then the subway, bass station and bus to Pattaya.

The road from Pattaya to Bangkok by bus

Getting from Pattaya to Bangkok is much easier, especially if the departure of your plane and the departure from Pattaya are the same day. In this case, you can go to the most convenient airport, and then a free shuttle bus will take you to the place. The difference in price arises only depending on the station from which you leave Pattaya.

The road from the north station in Pattaya

A direct bus from Pattaya North Station to Suvarnabhumi Airport costs 250 baht per person and runs every hour starting at 6 am. You cannot buy a ticket in advance, as the sign on the window to the box office says. Provided that you still need to get to the Basstation by taxi, at least 100 baht, or a motorcycle taxi 60 baht per person, then the total cost for a trip of three or more people will be comparable to a taxi to the airport. Therefore, when you come with a company on vacation to Pattaya, think about collective taxi rental for 1000-1200 baht for everyone.

The second option is to go through one of the bus stations, but even here the gain will not be significant: 108 baht for a bus plus 35 baht for BTS, for a total of 140 baht for the road. But do not forget about a taxi in Pattaya and the inconvenience of transfers. This option can be considered if you decide to spend a couple of nights in Bangkok on Kuasan Road or in the Ekimai area before flying. It is better to leave for the airport from the southern station

The road from the south station in Pattaya

The last and cheapest option is the direct bus to the airport. Its cost is 120 baht per person. We needed another 150 baht for three of us to get from the north of Pattaya to the south station with an Uber. Thus, the road from the hotel cost 170 baht.

To be honest, minibuses run from the southern station with a price of 269 baht, but I don’t see the point in going to them. Ordinary regular buses in Thailand are quite comfortable, so there is no particular need to overpay

Other ways to get to Pattaya from Bangkok

Taxi from Bangkok to Pattaya and back

If shaking in traditional buses does not suit you, but you want to get there in comfort, then it makes sense to use taxi services. However, it should be remembered that the road from Bangkok airport is not at all the same as the road to the airport. As a rule, the latter is cheaper, because, having delivered you from Pattaya to your destination, the taxi driver can pick up more fellow travelers with whom he will return back. Taxi drivers who are on duty at the airport usually live in Bangkok, i.e. they will most likely have to return "for their own" from Pattaya. So do not be surprised that almost any taxi driver will be ready to take you to the Airport from Pattaya for 1000-1200 baht (about 2000 rubles), but it is unlikely that you will be able to leave the airport for less than 1500, although there are already rumors about 2000 baht per trip. But this is about ordinary taxi drivers who are free to dictate prices themselves, but there are other options.

A good alternative is online taxis, which, unfortunately, require the Internet, which we simply forgot about when we arrived in Thailand for a week-long vacation. As a result, we were temporarily deprived of the benefits of civilization in the form of Uber and Grab taxis, although a trip from the airport was not included in our plans anyway. From Pattaya to Bangkok Grab taxi broke 1700 baht, Uber is more accommodating and ready to take for 1200 baht, which, with the condition of a four-person trip, makes the road quite affordable, because for two we spent about 350 baht to deliver ourselves to the Airport.

Motorcycle Taxi to Bangkok Airport from Pattaya

Of course, I don’t seriously consider this option, for several reasons at once, but to complete the picture, our comrades asked about the price, and the very possibility of getting from Pattaya to Bangkok Airport on a motorcycle. And now I will tell you why you should not do this:

  • The price of a motorcycle taxi to Bangkok from Pattaya is unreasonably high. Perhaps our question was taken as a joke, but the answer surprised us 1900 baht, i.е. more expensive than the most expensive taxi
  • Shaking two hours to Bangkok on a motorcycle is hard. Do not forget that these two cities are separated by a hundred kilometers, i.e. at least two hours drive. Even just two hours of riding a bike out of habit is exhausting, and the same two hours spent behind, also with suitcases at the ready, will make the road endless
  • Motorcycles in Thailand are quite dangerous transport due to heavy traffic. A motorcycle is generally quite dangerous, but a motorcycle on a high-speed road among cars and buses is doubly dangerous.

Escort tour with immersion in the specifics of Thailand

For aesthetes, there is a chic option, after which you are unlikely to forget Thailand and Pattaya. From the airport in Bangkok, you can immediately immerse yourself in all the delights of Thai life. Nuru massage, happy endings, comfortable car, exclusive meeting - all this and even more, provided that you come to Thailand just to have fun.

Our exclusive luxury car will pick you up at the airport or from your hotel and take you anywhere you want in comfort. During the trip, two or more of our stunning Thai ladies will show you what a real "Devil's Den" is.

Devil's Den offers two travel routes: between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Pattaya, and between Bangkok and Pattaya. Both trips can last from 90 minutes to two hours depending on traffic. Price for any tour (2 girls of your choice, refreshments, full service) only 18,000 baht

Happy journey, remember if you wish, even the longest journey may seem desirable, take your magnificent step towards a life of pleasure.

How to get from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi Airport at night

In addition to the methods listed above, there are no other ways to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport from Pattaya.

From 7.30 am to 2.00 am, you can get to the airport without a taxi Pattaya-Suvarnabhumi in one of the above ways. If you need to arrive at the airport later than 2.00 am and earlier than 7.30 am, then there are three options:

  • arrive at the airport at 2.00 am and wait as long as necessary;
  • hire a taxi Pattaya - Suvarnabhumi for 1100 baht;

  1. Bus Pattaya - Bangkok - metro. Although the last bus leaves at 23.00, the metro in Bangkok closes at midnight, so in order to catch the metro, you have to leave at 21.00 maximum.
  2. Bus Pattaya - Bangkok - taxi. A taxi from Ekkamai to Suvarnabhumi is only half an hour, but you still need to find a taxi, and there are often traffic jams in Bangkok, so I wrote the travel time one hour.

What is the best way to get to the airport from Pattaya, which way to choose

What is the best way to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport from Pattaya, except for a taxi? Let's compare all methods with each other:

  • the best and most popular way (it's also the cheapest!). Of all the ways discussed here, the best and most popular is the FoodMart bus, it is cheap, only 120 baht, and you do not have to pay extra for luggage;
  • the most convenient way (not counting the taxi)- is to get by bus Bell Travel Service: a minivan will come to the hotel for you. The disadvantages of this method are that you need to buy a ticket at the Northern Bus Station, the ticket is expensive, and even the luggage is paid if more than one piece or one piece weighs more than 20 kg;
  • the most interesting but inconvenient way is to go to Bangkok by bus, and then by subway or taxi to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport. This way is the longest and most troublesome to get to, but it is much cheaper than a direct taxi, and you can also use it to arrive at the airport either early in the morning or late at night, unlike other methods. In addition, you can once again see Bangkok or ride the subway - this is a whole adventure!
